So I decided to write this piece of text explaining the reasons for the name.
First CyraX happens to be my 'alias' in the digital world.
Second my parents did not come up with that name.
Third it all started @ the IIIT
Background:
Ok a long time back when I was young (summer 1996), I played this game called Mortal Kombat II you can
find more info in this wiki link. It was too good and I got hooked onto it.
Then around 1997 I came across the Mortal Kombat 3 (either N64 or Playstation 1). It was here that I
first came across the character CYRAX (TM). I liked the character, though he was not my favourite.
Switch to 1998 and we were asked to write down our names for login names for this 'linux' thing.
Back then I was even afraid to switch on a computer. So when I wrote down the login name as obviously
'chaitanya', I was called to the server room by Mr Amar (I think) and told that two people cannot have
the same name. So after a second of thinking, I remembered Cyrax. Well chaitanya && cyrax both start
with 'c' so it suited me. Besides it was a cool name. I never thought that cyrax would stick to me.
After some months it became a common name for me. Infact I started going around on the digital world
with the name CyraX. I started liking that name. So there it is, how did I become CyraX (also).
However somethings never change, not everyone calls me CyraX. My parents are the first in the line.
Till date I worked for three companies.
